This striking necklace features 62 hand-carved beads made from fossilized walrus teeth, each one shaped and polished to reveal its natural character. Measuring approximately 24 inches in length, it is finished with a larger, intricately carved fossilized walrus tooth centerpiece, creating a bold focal point that highlights the beauty of this ancient material.
A longtime resident of Alaska, Jesse Lebeof has been carving for over five decades. His passion began at eight years old, when he attended a fair and watched an Alaskan chainsaw carver at work. Inspired, he went home and created his very first carving-and he's never stopped. Today, Jesse works in a wide range of traditional materials. including antler, stone, and bone. His pieces reflect a lifetime of practice, patience, and respect for the land and the animals that inspire his art.
