Shishmaref is a city on Sarichef Island in the Chukchi Sea just north of the Bering Straight near Nome, Alaska
Ivory is traditionally carved by Alaskan Native artisans
Each of these masks will vary with intricate designs and details. They are intended to use as decoration pieces with a small stringer hanging loop on the back, but they can be turned into other things, like a broach!
